The Adobe Bluffs PTA welcomes you to the 2011-2012 school year!

The Adobe Bluffs PTA is a volunteer group of parents, teachers, administrators, and concerned citizens that develop and implement enrichment programs for your children, such as:
Arts Attack – art programs taught in the classroom Mileage Club – healthy choice for lunch recess
Winter Jamboree – carnival with food, games & prizes AB Games – school wide sports day
Science Day – event exploring science with students Author’s Faire – assembly with an author
Performing Arts – experience a live performance Diversity Day – mix of culture and community
Literacy Support – in-class reading program support Safety Patrol – provides crossing guards
Due to the state’s continued financial issues, Adobe Bluffs has received the third straight year of significant funding cuts which will affect every child and every classroom. Because of this, we are asking every family to please step up and support the PTA and Adobe Bluffs by becoming a member.
Who should join the PTA?
Both parents are strongly encouraged to join. Memberships are individual (not per family). Show even more support by asking a grandparent, relative, friend or neighbor to join too!
What is the membership money used for?
$5.10 goes toward the local, state & national PTA. $5.40 goes to Adobe Bluffs and is earmarked for Literacy Support. This includes:
- New library books & library support
- In-class reading programs
- Early Morning Reader Program
Why should I become a member of the PTA?
The most important reason is to support your child, their education and total school experience. In addition to that, you’re also supporting the local, state and national PTA. Now…more than ever, having a strong voice is vital to PTA’s efforts in advocating for children’s educational needs. The more members…the stronger the voice!
NO meetings! Although you are warmly invited to all PTA association meetings, we understand that you are busy. Joining simply means you believe in and support the PTA’s goals and voice.

CA PTA Parents Know the Answer
The PTA has a history of making a difference in communities across California. In recent years, the opportunities to communicate messages about the PTA and education have grown exponentially; today email, Facebook, and YouTube can be as effective as television in reaching the public even more effective, in some ways. Through the Parents Know the Answer new media campaign, the California State PTA and the Pearson Foundation are capturing parents voices and turning them into short public service announcements (PSAs) that you can use for free to raise awareness about the mission and diversity of the PTA in your community.
